Job Description Summary
The CLINIC MANAGER for Penn Dental Medicine's Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/Pharmacology is responsible for oversight of clinic operations as well as Department planning, budgeting, and managing the educational and research support of the faculty. Responsibilities include: schedule/rotation management; inventory management; and ensuring compliance is adhered in all workflows/processes.

This position will report to the Department Chairman, with dotted lines to the Director of the Oral Surgery Clinic, the Director of the Oral Surgery Residency Program, and the Director of the Oral Surgery, Pharmacology, and Anesthesia Academics.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the quality of patient care by working with staff to ensure timely patient scheduling, treatment, and management of patient care concerns.
  • Supervise administrative, clerical and clinic staff; including, but not limited to: performance evaluations, professional development/training, orientation, and communication of Departmental goals and mission.
  • Organize and coordinate clinic schedules for staff, residents, students, and attendings. Monitor and oversee the organization of patient clinic schedule.
  • Responsible for all inventory management, ordering and approving all needed supplies for the Oral Surgery Clinic as well as coordinating the transportation of medication from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) to Penn Dental Medicine as needed. Partner with PDM departments on insurance claims, process and collection for patient billing and management of client complaints.
  • Ensure equipment is stocked, current, and functioning at manufacturer's standard, including the calibration of nitrous oxide units, supplying and maintaining clinic crash carts, oxygen tanks, emergency medications, and AED's.
  • Provide leadership and communication regarding university/school/departmental/clinical/patient- related information to staff, faculty, residents and predoctoral students. In close collaboration with Department leadership, develop processes/workflows to operations as needed. Oversee compliance with university, school, departmental and clinical policies. Serve as key administrator in the clinic of all infection control and OSHA regulations and issues by working closely with the Office of Clinical Affairs. Ensure that all staff is HIPAA and AACO compliant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of managing a dental clinic required.

Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.

Strong, proven leadership skills.

Effective organizational and computer skills.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
