Job Description Summary
We are looking for a full-time experienced clinical research coordinator (CRC - level B or C) to work in a fast-paced translational immunology research laboratory. The CRC will be involved in projects aimed at understanding human immune health with study cohorts spanning both adult and pediatric medicine. We are looking for an experienced CRC who is enthusiastic and will work with research members to meet teams goals.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Job Description
  • The CRC-B will fully understand study designs and protocols. The CRC will be responsible for management of Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation including continuing reviews, amendments, and reporting of adverse events and deviations. He/She will be actively involved in screening, consent, recruitment, enrollment, data capture and data entry. CRC will schedule patient blood draws according to IRB guidelines and follow up with patients and families involved in the study. The CRC will organize and maintain all documentation required by the investigator and sponsor and be able to quickly generate needed reports. The candidate will be expected to maintain non-traditional personnel status at the Children's hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and connect CHOP and Penn research platforms. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for coordination and electronic documentation of sample transmission from phlebotomy to a research processing core and eventually to the sponsor. The successful candidate will demonstrate vigilance in patient safety and protocol compliance and be able to perform regulatory review and ensure data quality.


  • The CRC-B is expected to function with minimal supervision, provide assistance to other coordinators and take a leadership role in making sure all study duties are completed. CRC-B may be asked to lead team meetings.


  • In addition to the duties above, the CRC-C is expected to function independently, supervise and train junior coordinators and provide oversight for multiple studies. Identify and anticipate potential issues and work with the project manager to proactively prepare for such scenarios. With guidance, the CRC-C will assist the project manager in completing study goals when needed.


Position is contingent upon funding

Qualifications
For CRC-B, a Bachelor's Degree and 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

For a CRC-C, a Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Both positions require excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with clinicians, researchers, patients, and families. Prior experience with IRB guidelines and submissions, IRB protocol compliance and policies, human subject research practices and professional skills in the execution of clinical research protocols is required. Candidate must have strong computer skills with proficiency in accessing, sharing, and modifying documents (excel, work, google docs, etc.) across platforms. Excellent organization, attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills are required. Must be able to work in a team environment
