Director of Pharmacy Technician Program

UIW Mission


Position Summary
The director is responsible for the curriculum and quality improvement of the Pharmacy Technician Program, to include full oversight of faculty and staff, working with admissions to recruit students to the program, and working with the college of pharmacy to explore opportunities for program growth. Position reports to the Associate Dean of Experiential & Pharmacy Technician Education and the Dean of Pharmacy. This is a non-tenure, twelve-month contract position.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.


Required Education
High School Diploma or GED.

Graduation from an ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training program.

Possessing or actively pursuing an Associates Degree, as determined by Search Committee.


Required Work Experience
Five years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Demonstrates on-going continuing education to maintain certification.


Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree.

Experience teaching pharmacy technicians.

Supervisory experience.


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Registered Pharmacy Technician in Texas.


Work Hours
Varies based on course assignment.
