Director of Pharmacy Technician Program

Position Summary
The director is responsible for the curriculum and quality improvement of the Pharmacy Technician Program, to include full oversight of faculty and staff, working with admissions to recruit students to the program, and working with the college of pharmacy to explore opportunities for program growth. Position reports to the Associate Dean of Experiential & Pharmacy Technician Education and the Dean of Pharmacy. This is a non-tenure, twelve-month contract position.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Required Education
At least High School Diploma or GED.

Possessing or actively pursuing an Associates Degree, as determined by Search Committee, or education beyond Associates Degree.

Required Work Experience
Experience as a pharmacy technician instructor OR current registered pharmacist OR five years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training program.

Experience teaching pharmacy technicians.

Supervisory experience.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Requirement for Pharmacy Tech Instructor and/or Pharmacy Tech-Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) AND eligibility for Pharmacy Technician registration in Texas.

Requirement for Pharmacist-Registered Pharmacist.
